With Father’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to get hunting for the perfect gift to show dad you care. Food makes a great Father’s Day present, so why not go all out and get him a food hamper?

Whether your dad’s favourite food is cheese or chocolate, there are plenty of hampers catering for all tastes with options on offer to suit all budgets.

And the best bit? They deliver…

1 Harrods
Harrods is more than a department store, it’s a London institution. The Knightsbridge tourist destination, which interestingly is owned by the state of Qatar, has been retailing since 1849 and boasts 330 departments, which together occupy 1.1 million square feet of retail space. A gift from Harrods always makes an impression, so why not opt for the Father’s Day Hamper, which costs £75 and features whisky truffles and Benromach 10-Year-Old Single Malt? Another option is The Harrogate Hamper from Cartwright & Butler, a wicker basket packed full of traditional British favourites, priced at £250. At the time of writing, there are delivery delays of up to 14 days, though there is free UK delivery for all orders worth £50 or more. Get yourself organised for this one.

Its marketplace reportedly links thousands of clients ‘to the best independent food and drink businesses’ daily, featuring the finest food and drink from hundreds of independent producers across the UK and beyond. Various hamper options are available, ranging from the Barcelona Hamper and the Chocolate Taster Box to the Sweet Like Honey Food Gift Hamper and the Essential French Delicatessen Bundle. The Dad Box, which costs £29.99 and includes snacking cheese and crisps, makes a great Father’s Day present too. The company offers same-day delivery in central London on almost all of its BoroughBox collections from Monday to Friday. At the time of writing, orders were being processed as usual but there are occasional delays in the courier network.

For a selection of Red Beetle goodies, order The Happiness Hamper, which costs £88 and features products like cantucci, paté and marmalade, packed in a vintage hat box. 4 Fortnum & Mason
Fortnum & Mason’s hampers gather together the very best foods from the famous Food Halls. And given Fortnum’s is nicknamed ‘the Queen’s grocer’ because of its direct links with Buckingham Palace, you know you’re getting the good stuff. Founded in 1707 by William Fortnum and Hugh Mason as a grocery store, it soon became famous for its top quality food, tea and hampers, so what better way to treat a father with a taste for the finer things in life? A range of Father’s Day hampers are available, like the £45 Father’s Day Essentials Box, which comes with a pork pie, scotch egg and cheddar cheese. But if you really want to push the boat out, go for the £1,000 The Windsor Hamper, described as ‘a hamper of truly regal proportions’. You can also buy hampers for export or create your own hamper.

Other options include the £60 Pique-Nique, which includes chorizo, apricot and thyme sausage rolls and corn-fed chicken, and the Leonardo da Veggie (perfect for vegetarians). The company’s delivery parameters extend from Wimbledon to West Kilburn and Camberwell to Chiswick, but if you fall outside the boundaries, Pique says ‘give us a ring and we’ll see what we can do’.

The London-based company describes itself as ‘the modern cheesemonger’ and its boxes range in size from 600g to 1.2kg. Inside you’ll find a selection of The Cheese Geek’s all-time favourite cheeses, alongside some ‘lesser-known beauties’. The Cutter & Squidge Afternoon Tea at Home kit offers a great range of products for an afternoon tea – scones, cakes, brownies, cream and jam are all included, along with loose-leaf tea.
