There’s something oddly comforting about supermarkets unveiling their festive food menus for Christmas 2020 in the middle of August.
In a year that has been anything but normal, due to a devastating pandemic that has touched the lives of so many people around the world, focusing on Christmas may offer a bit of comfort for some.
And even though we don’t really know what Christmas 2020 will bring, at least we know what Asda will be adding to its festive food menu.
The seasonal offerings include something for everyone with a lot more focus on vegan products than ever before.
The range will be available in stores and online at Asda.com between October and December.

This year, Asda has seen a 275 per cent increase in customers searching for vegan food products on its website.

Aldo new to Asda for Christmas 2020, but made from a recipe dating back to 1925, is the Extra Special Sour Cherry Nougat.
The indulgent nougat is made in the Bergamo region of Northern Italy by the third generation of this family company who only use exceptional ingredients and use traditional methods.
Whipped egg whites give it a soft and decadent texture, then it’s filled with roasted hazelnuts and almonds and swirled with sour cherry paste, before being hand finished with a scattering of Italian Amarena sour cherries.
For your vegan guests, there’s the Vegan Christmas Cottage Duo.
This delectable and creamy dessert duo is filled with dark morello cherry compote and chocolate mousse, has a tiffin base made with chopped dates, raisins and dark chocolate and a luxurious dark chocolate shell with a gold lustre.
