More than half of Americans are eating fewer animal products since the pandemic began, while 6 in 10 say they’re eating a semi-vegetarian or flexitarian diet. The market research firm OnePoll found that Americans have been adjusting their eating habits to make healthier choices.
For respondents, almost 60% said that they “strongly agree” or “somewhat agree” that their eating has shifted to a plant-based diet. Many respondents were choosing plant-based breakfasts and 80% said they would be amenable to one plant-based meal each week. Here are some ideas:
As plant-based diets continue to grow in popularity, many see the shift to a plant-based diet as a permanent move, at least in the future. Respondents said they planned to transition fully to plant-based diets in five years’ time.
