Hungry veggie mums and children have been left with no main meal options at McDonald’s after the chain pulled its vegetarian from menus.
Veggie Dippers and Happy Meal Veggie Dippers are currently showing as “unavailable” on McDonald’s menu, while the Vegetable Deluxe burger is also not being served.
That leaves vegetarian customers with no main menu options and left with the choice of sides such as a bag of carrots, fruit, salad or chips to eat.
And some customers are less than impressed.
Roshni tweeted: “Hi McDonald’s just been to one of your Watford branches to be told the veggie dippers and veggie deluxe has been discontinued because a customer complained and so it is not on the menu anymore! Is this true? Is there no vegetarian option now?”
Stephen added: ” @McDonalds why have you discontinued all vegan/vegetarian mains in Scotland this week? Very disappointing given all of your rival companies have multiple. And given how you raved about those dipper things. Joke’s on you, you missed £12 from us alone today”
Another woman added: “Today I was sitting at @McDonaldsUK Harrow.
“Me and my Vegetarian kid ate only chips, because #mcdonalds running Out veg so there is no any veg items left to sell.”
She added: “Being pregnant, I wanted to Eat Here but now I have to go to another restaurant for eating.”
A McDonald’s spokeswoman told Mirror Money: “Due to an issue resulting in some of our Veggie Dippers having not met the high standards that we expect from our products, we have temporarily removed them from our menu.
“We are working hard to return our Dippers to the menu as quickly as possible, and apologise to our customers for any disappointment caused.”
