Recognized as the first vegan Italian wine bar in the United States, Pura Vita is quickly becoming one of LA’s hottest vegan spots. From Cacio E Pepe and Cauliflower Chickpea Parmigiana to Baked Alfredo, Gluten-Free Margherita Pizza, and Tiramisu, the menu items from Pura Vita are not to be missed! Oh, and did we mention they serve brunch on the weekend?
The restaurant was founded by chef Tara Punzone, an Italian-American from Brooklyn. With a menu inspired by the flavors and dishes of Southern Italy and the ambiance of a New York City wine bar, Pura Vita has attracted quite the crowd. After opening their flagship restaurant in West Hollywood and expanding to an all-vegan pizzeria next door, the Pura Vita team is ready to open another location. Chef Tara Punzone took to Instagram to make the announcement. “We have been working hard, creating, evolving, expanding our minds and our hearts. We cannot wait to grow our amazing family from West Hollywood down to the South Bay,” wrote Punzone.

These brands offer biker shorts that are trendy and earth-friendly––hey, that rhymes! Whether you’re an avid mountain biker, spin class enthusiast, or have never sat on a two-wheeler in your life, we can all agree that biker shorts are one of the hottest new movements in the fashion scene. With the stretchiness of leggings and the breeziness of short-shorts (without all the chafing), these mid-length bottoms hit the sweet spot for comfort and style. Here are a few of our favorites!
Pasta Salad is the Midwesterner’s way of tricking themselves into thinking that they’re eating healthy. This recipe serves one. Or like eight people. Whichever.
Everyone needs a go-to chocolate cookie, so consider this your new one. Gooey and thick, this rich chocolate cookie is grain-free, vegan, and refined sugar-free—sweetened only with Just Date Syrup. It’s gonna be a ritual, starting tonight.
This uber creamy 20-minute vegan mac delivers the tang of sharp cheddar from a surprising source—sun-dried tomatoes! A few basil leaves add complexity to the flavors without making it taste “tomato basil-y.” I like to top it with hemp seeds for a little extra texture and nutrition, but that’s totally optional. Use chickpea or lentil pasta to make this mac ‘n cheez super healthy! Add a side of steamed green beans or broccoli for a complete meal.
