Beyond Meat has announced that Beyond Meatballs will be rolling out in grocery stores nationwide starting this week.
Beyond Meatballs are pre-seasoned with a signature blend of Italian spices, pre-rolled and ready to cook. The plant-based meatballs are made with no GMOs, soy, gluten, cholesterol, or synthetic ingredients and have 30% less saturated fat and sodium than animal-based Italian-style meatballs.
Beyond Meatballs will be available at grocery stores including Whole Foods Market, Stop & Shop, Sprouts, Harris Teeter, Kroger, Albertsons, and others by early October. The plant-based meat balls will be sold in the fresh meat section in 12-meatball packs with a suggested retail price of $6.99.
On September 16, Beyond Meat is hosting a one-day only pop-up shop in Los Angeles and New York City where customers can sample a complimentary Beyond Meatball Hero or Beyond Meatballs and Spaghetti entrée, for takeout only, through the brand’s Resy pages.
“We’re thrilled to introduce Beyond Meatballs as they deliver on consumers’ growing demand for delicious and nutritious plant-based meat options without GMOs or synthetic ingredients,” said Stuart Kronauge, Chief Marketing Officer, Beyond Meat. “We are proud to introduce our newest innovation at retailers nationwide and know our fans will be excited about the great taste and convenience of Beyond Meatballs.”
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, plant-based meat sales have skyrocketed. Demand for refrigerated plant-based meatballs has surged 145% in the 52 weeks ending Aug. 9, according to the latest IRI data as reported by CNBC.
Plant-based meat companies like Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods have seized the moment, starting online sales that ship directly to consumers, entering new grocery stores across the U.S, and expanding into new international markets. The launch of Beyond Meatballs marks Beyond Meat’s third new grocery product in the U.S. this year alone.
